Jaelon is a proud Talbot County Public Schools (TCPS) and Williams College graduate. Responsible for expanding student voice during his term on the Board of Education, Jaelon remains invested in the just futures of Talbot school communities’ on the TCPS Education Foundation Board. It is not lost on Jaelon that he stands on the shoulders and support of so many bellwethers whose legacies endure. His ancestors established what is believed to be the only American village founded by formerly enslaved soldiers, Copperville, as well as the earliest free Black community in the nation. Appointed to the Maryland Commission on African American History and Culture by the first Black Governor in the state's 246-year history, Jaelon is an unwavering Delmarva champion of equity, traditional knowledge and ingenuity across the learning continuum. Featured in the inaugural edition of Talbot County’s Literary Arts Magazine Spindrift, he is committed to ensuring the Eastern Shore’s rich tradition of growing revolutionaries is conserved through reimagined, inclusive literary canons.
