Welcome to The Needle’s Eye Academy’s Community and Connection Board

Welcome to The Needle’s Eye Academy’s Community and Connection Board. The Academy understands access to information and opportunities for connection and collaboration is a necessity to all active and preserving communities—especially in rural localities. To demystify and uplift opportunities for scholars on Maryland’s Eastern Shore outside of our organizational programming, this board is an interactive ecosystem of scholarships, extra-curricular activities, volunteer and mentorship experiences, and/or events from which scholars and their families may benefit from. Cultivating new and efficient forms of knowledge transmission and affirming community connections is vital to dynamic literacy and, by extension, collective liberation.

The Needle's Eye Academy Unbound Scholarship

Are you a high school scholar of color from the Eastern Shore interested in publishing, creative writing, and editing? Apply for the Academy’s scholarship to attend the Cherry Tree Young Writers’ Conference hosted by Washington College annually.

Interested in uplifting a program, scholarship, and/or event on our Board? Using our contact form, please provide a short description of the opportunity (be sure to include the community it intends to serve, action steps (e.g. how to apply, deadlines), and contact information). Thank you for helping The Academy facilitate a community-based resource dedicated to equitable accessibility, literacy and student empowerment on the Eastern Shore.
