Dr. Marcia Sprankle

Board Member

Dr. Marcia Sprankle serves as the Assistant Superintendent for Queen Anne’s County Public Schools (QACPS) and an Adjunct Professor for Bowie State University. Prior to joining QACPS, she served as the Assistant State Superintendent for the Division of Curriculum, Instructional Improvement, and Professional Learning and as the Executive Director for Title I - Program Improvement and Family Support at the Maryland State Department of Education.


Previous to becoming employed with the MSDE, she served as a supervisor at the central office, principal of a primary, elementary and secondary buildings, assistant principal at a middle/high combination school and a classroom teacher in Talbot County Public Schools. She started her career in education as a second and third grade teacher in Virginia Beach City Public Schools. Dr. Sprankle obtained her Doctorate degree from Wilmington University, Masters degree from Regent University, and Bachelor’s degree from Norfolk State University.


Dr. Sprankle believes all students can be successful if they are surrounded by adults who foster positive working relationships, all barriers are removed, and equal opportunities are provided.
